Driver and Crew

Curtis Fishel (Owner/Driver)

Curtis started attending racing events at the age of 11 with his older brother. His first interaction with the whole sport of DRAG RACING was in 1972 at BEELINE DRAGWAY where he was asked by a guy to help steer his car and push it forward. Little did he know that guy was BIG DADDY DON GARLITS. From that moment his interest into DRAG RACING ignited. At the age of 16 his dad helped him with his dream of becoming a racer. Together they set out to build a drag car and start Curtis racing life. After curtis won his 1st two races including the 1978 high school nationals he bracket raced for several years and over those years he has worked his way into becoming a licensed SUPER GAS driver in the NHRA, a crew man, a crew chief and most recently over the last 15 years has worked with RACERS FOR CHRIST as there sound tech/chaplin. Eventually he had to step away from the sport of DRAG RACING so that he could start his family. In 1991 Curtis took his 5 year old son Clinton Fishel to the SUPER CHEVY SHOW to introduce him to the sport he had grown up around and loved so much. From that moment on the Father Son combo have been involved in DRAG RACING ever since. After several years of seeing his son Clinton so involved and excel so quick in the sport the choice was made to build a new family race team. Since then the FISHEL FAMILY RACING team was born and will be competing with a brand new 2000 S-10 SUPER GAS truck in the 2013 NHRA FULL THROTTLE DRAG RACING SERIES soon to be followed by a new 1969 CAMARO roadster.

Clinton Fishel (Co-owner/Driver)
In 1991 at the age of 5, Clinton was taken to his very first DRAG RACE at firebird international raceway. The sound of the loud cars and smell of burnt rubber instantly overtook him with excitement. From that moment his father Curtis knew this would become a family tradition for life. Since then they have attended the NHRA national event in Arizona every year. Being true fans of the sport they would get to the track at the break of dawn and wait for the gates to open so they could claim there seats at the top of the grandstands and cheer on every class. Clinton took a particular liking to the NHRA sportsman class Super gas and Super comp and they now help out friends running there cars when they are not running their own. In 2008 Clinton attended the FRANK HAWLEYS SCHOOL of DRAG RACING in Las Vegas and completed the Super Gas course to earn his NHRA Super gas license. In 2009 he was given the opportunity to drive for a family friend and has continued to occasionally drive for various friends. Clinton is eagerly waiting the day he can drive the first ever FISHEL FAMILY RACING car, which will happen within the next year. Clinton holds his NHRA racing license in 4 different classes and is looking forward to getting back on the track in the near future.
